KAMLOOPS - A new road providing alternate access to Westsyde in Kamloops is moving forward again.
Grasslands Boulevard was delayed last year due to concerns from locals and design issues.
City council will be voting tomorrow, March 14, to approve a $1.7 million contract to complete the project this year.
The new road will connect the two ends of Grasslands Boulevard, from Batchelor Heights at Cantle Drive to Woodrush Drive in Westsyde, providing a secondary route into the north Kamloops neighbourhood.
The project will also include traffic signals at the intersection of Westsyde Road and Grasslands Boulevard and utility upgrades.
Funds for the $2.1 million project are coming from development cost charges, not directly from taxpayers.
There is no timeline yet for construction.
