KAMLOOPS - The Kamloops RCMP are reporting a lower number of thefts from motor vehicles than previous weeks.

According to a release from Cpl. Jodi Shelkie with the Kamloops RCMP, 48 vehicles were broken into and had items taken between Sep. 30 and Oct. 6.

That's significantly lower than in recent months. Between Sept. 23 to 29, there were 62 thefts from motor vehicles. The week before that, there were 73 thefts from vehicles.

The thefts happened in nearly every neighbourhood of town, including Upper and Lower Sahali, Batchelor Heights, Downtown, Westsyde, Dallas, Aberdeen, and more.

Three of the reported thefts are not shown on the map. There was one theft each in Dallas, Rayleigh, and in the rural area that are not shown.
