KAMLOOPS - Kamloops RCMP are reporting an increase in thefts from motor vehicles.

There were 73 thefts from motor vehicles from Sept. 16 through to the 22, according to an RCMP media release. The previous week had 63 thefts, and at this time last month, there were just 35 thefts from vehicles.

The thefts occurred in nearly all areas of the city, including Thompson Rivers University, Upper and Lower Sahali, Brocklehurst, Downtown, Aberdeen and Dallas.

Rayleigh, Westsyde, Juniper Ridge and Tranquille each have one theft that is not shown on the map. Two thefts in Dallas are also not shown on the map.
