For those who were sad to learn this week that there would no longer be a strip club in Kamloops — relief.

After news broke here this week about the Duchess on Tranquille changing ownership and no longer hosting exotic dancers, it appears the deal has fallen through.

As the sole location to host strippers in the city, there were various reactions to the news.

While InfoTel News has not heard back from the club yet as to the reasons for a last-minute change of heart, the club's Facebook page posted this message around 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

"I am VERY HAPPY to announce the deal fell through to sell the DUCHESS. We are staying open as the Duchess for good!!! Long live the exotic entertainment!!! We want to thank all of u for your support as we went through this difficult phase!! WOO HOO!!! We hope to see all of u very soon!!!!!"

It all comes after tremendous media attention this week.
