Vernon's Canadian Tire store will be reopening next week.

Almost three months after fire damage forced the retailer to close, Canadian Tire owner Jack D’Amico said the store will be reopening on Friday, Feb. 10.

The store was forced to close after a fire outside in its garden centre area, Nov. 19, 2022. The blaze was discovered at 3 a.m. and caused a large amount of smoke damage to the inside of the store. Vernon RCMP said at the time that the fire was suspicious but there have been no updates on the investigation since.

"We're still filling up the holes, there's a lot of merchandizing to be done," D’Amico said told iNFOnews.ca. "I never felt so much support, the community really missed our store."

D'Amico said the store employs roughly 100 people and they were paid during the closure.

He said there'll be a grand reopening with a sale and deals on products that would have been on sale for Black Friday and Boxing Day.
