TORONTO - The Grand Slam of Curling will hold an event outside of Canada for the first time next season.
The Curling Group, which organizes the series, says it will make a stop in Lake Tahoe, Nev., as part of a five-event schedule for the 2025-26 campaign.
The 4,200-seat Tahoe Blue Event Center will host the GSOC Tahoe event from Nov. 4-9.
“Next season is all about growing the game. The Grand Slam of Curling has always been rooted in showcasing the best international competition, with the goal of bringing events to our fans outside of Canada,” said The Curling Group chief executive officer Nic Sulsky. “At the same time, we are building up the next generation of curling rockstars, giving more teams more opportunities than ever before to compete at GSOC events.”
The Sept. 23-28 Masters in London, Ont., will be the first of four Canadian events. The Tour Challenge will be held in Nisku, Alta., from Oct. 14-19, and the Canadian Open will be held Dec. 16-21 in Saskatoon.
The Players' Championship will be held in Steinbach, Man., from Jan. 13-18, a few weeks before the Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Italy.
Organizers also plan to hold tier-two events in London, Nisku and Saskatoon.
