Case of Quebec mom facing triple murder charge put off until April

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. - The case of a Quebec mother charged with killing her three kids will return to court in April.

Sonia Blanchette had her case put off today after appearing in court in Drummondville.

Blanchette was ordered last October to stand trial on three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of her young children in December 2012.

The three children — Lorelie, 5, Loic, 4, and Anais, 2 — were found dead in their mother's apartment.

The coroner ruled the two youngest children drowned while the oldest child was killed by a combination of strangling and drowning.

Blanchette remains detained pending the outcome of her jury trial.

A court clerk says the case will resume April 9.
