A small, but highly visible wildfire above Skaha Lake in Penticton was quickly dealt with by fire crews today.

is being held near Shaka Creek in Penticton.

BC Wildfire Service says the blaze at Skaha Creek, which was less than a hectare in size, is being held.

Lightning is the probably cause of the wildfire.

"The B.C. Wildfire Service uses a full response when there is threat to public safety and/or property and other values, such as infrastructure or timber," the wildfire service said. “Immediate action is taken. During a full response, a wildfire is suppressed and controlled until it is deemed out."
