A fire that broke out in Penticton's West Bench area this afternoon is now being held.

A wildfire that broke out in Penticton's this afternoon is now being held but not before 12 homes were evacuated.
The fire on the city's West Bench is currently a little more than two hectares in size and being held, according to BC Wildfire Service.
It's burning in the West Bench Electoral Area "F" of the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen.
It was discovered sometime today, Aug. 6, and is believed to have been human caused.
The regional district said approximately 12 homes have been evacuated.
The City of Penticton has set up a reception centre for residents who have been displaced by the fire.
