Crews extinguish fire near Highway 97 along Swan Lake

Crews put a fire at a rural property near Highway 97 north of Vernon Friday afternoon. 

A large plume of black smoke could be seen near the highway along to Swan Lake. 

BX Swan Lake Fire Rescue were in charge and the Vernon Fire Department assisted, according to a City of Vernon spokesperson.

There are reports a pile of pallets had caught fire.

No word yet on how the blaze started.
