A five vehicle accident in downtown Kamloops today had fire, police and ambulance crews on scene.

Kamloops Fire Rescue Platoon Capt. Mike Haines says the call came in at about 10:45 a.m. today, May 15. It appears a Canada Post van and another commercial vehicle were involved in the crash, as well as an RV.

“Initial reports from the scene were that there were five vehicles involved,” Haines says. “I believe a motor home as well, two big trucks and I assume two smaller vehicles… there was a postal one and I believe a Best Express van, a three-tonne truck.”

Although Kamloops Fire rescue is no longer on the scene, Haines says crews drove by the area about 20 minutes ago and noticed RCMP were still on scene and had diverted traffic.

Sarah Morris, media relations with B.C. Emergency Health Services says no one involved in the crash required care from paramedics.
