The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is building steam for its 25th run across Canada and the U.S. in December.

Now called Canadian Pacific Kansas City, the railway's Holiday Train will be making stops in the Shuwap and Kamloops this year.

Each year the brightly lit train makes its way across the U.S. and Canada on the CPKC network with the aim of spreading festive cheer and raising money for food insecurity.

The Holiday Train will begin its journey on Nov. 20. It will travel across six provinces and 14 states, showcasing 191 live music performances along the way.

Tyler Shaw and Kiesza will be performing live from the train on Dec. 15 to 16, when it makes stops in Sicamous, Salmon Arm, Chase and Kamloops.

"Our railroaders take great joy in joining communities across our network as they come together in the giving spirit of the holidays," said Keith Creel, CPKC President and CEO. "We are proud to support local food banks as we fight food insecurity by collecting food and raising money and awareness.”

Since 1999, the Holiday Train program has raised more than $22.5 million for community food banks.

Each event is completely free to attend. However, CPKC encourages every attendee to make a monetary or heart-healthy food donation. Local food banks will be accepting donations at each stop to help ensure those in need can access adequate food throughout the holiday season.

A full schedule and details of this year's Holiday Train and Holiday Express train is available on the CPKC website here.
