VICTORIA - British Columbia has reported 341 new cases of COVID-19 and nine more deaths, bringing the death toll in the province to 2,378.

The Health Ministry says 2,915 infections were active on Thursday, including 220 people in hospital with 73 in intensive care.

It notes that the latest case numbers are provisional due to a data delay and would be verified once confirmed.

The province says just over 82 per cent of eligible residents aged five and up have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine, while 13 per cent of eligible adults have received three doses.

There are five health-care facilities with ongoing outbreaks.

The province says people who were not fully vaccinated accounted for 57.7 per cent of COVID-19 cases diagnosed in the first week of December.
