A roadside check Friday night resulted in 20 driving prohibitions.
RCMP Integrated Road Safety Unit Central Okanagan Traffic Services set up numerous road checks throughout Kelowna between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. Members of MADD were also on hand.
The driving prohibitions included seven 90-day Immediate Roadside Driving Prohibitions (IRP), ten 3-day IRP's, two 24 hour prohibitions for drugs and alcohol, and one 12 hour driving prohibition. Numerous roadside screening tests and Standard Field Sobriety Tests were utilized.
Two people were arrested, one for obstructing a peace officer and personation, the other for breach of an order.
Seventeen violations tickets were issued for infractions. The most common were for "N" drivers with too many passengers or driving under the influence of alcohol.
