Cool, wet weather expected for Canada Day long weekend in Okanagan

OKANAGAN – Your chance of getting a sunburn this Canada Day long weekend in the Okanagan is pretty low.

Environment Canada is calling for clouds, showers and below normal temperatures right through the three-day weekend which is the traditional kick-off to summer.

You can expect a mainly cloudy day today, June 28, in the Okanagan with a 60 percent chance of showers, a brisk wind in the afternoon and a high of 20 Celsius. Overnight, the forecast calls for clouds, a slight chance of showers and a low down to 11 C.

Expect a mix of sun and cloud tomorrow morning, before the clouds roll in with a 40 per cent chance of showers late in the afternoon and a high of around 22 C.

There is more rain in Saturday’s forecast with a 70 per cent chance of showers and a high around 22 C.

Canada Day on Sunday may be the nicest day of the long weekend with a mix of sun and cloud forecast and a high of 22 C.

The showers are expected to return for holiday Monday with a high of only 17 C.

Normal temperatures in the Okanagan at this time of year are highs around 25 C and lows down to approximately 11 C.
