Cool and sunny this week in Kamloops

This week's weather in Kamloops should be good for a brisk autumn stroll as the forecast calls for sunshine, but cool temperatures through Friday.

Windy conditions early this week will clear the skies in Kamloops but it’s promising to be chilly as temperatures are expected to be on the low side of normal for this time of year.

Environment Canada meteorologist Bobby Sekhon says an arctic front moving into the region today, Oct. 28, will bring some wind and cooler air to Kamloops for the next few days.

Clearing skies today will be accompanied by northwest winds at 30 km/h gusting to 50 this morning, increasing to 50 and gusting to 70 near noon.

Today’s high should reach 5 Celsius, and as winds diminish tonight a low of -7 C, with windchill reaching -10 C expected.

Tomorrow should be sunny with a high of 1 C. Overnight temperatures are expected to dip to -4 C under clear skies.

Wednesday should be sunny with a high of 4 C and a low of -2 C.

Weather for trick or treaters will be dry but cool this year, as the sun continues to shine on Thursday, with a high of 7 C and an overnight low of -2 C predicted for Halloween.

More sunshine is expected Friday with a high of 7 C and a low of 0 C.

On Saturday and Sunday, temperatures are expected to moderate under a mix of sun and cloud. It should reach a high of 10 C both days, with an overnight low of 3 C on Saturday.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 9 C and lows of 1 C.
