VERNON - The B.C. Conservatives were the last to announce their candidate in Vernon-Monashee and are the first to drop out of the race.
Local B.C. Conservative candidate Nels Harrington is no longer running for MLA.
Scott Anderson, a director at large with the B.C. Conservatives, says Harrington withdrew his name due to the time commitment.
“He’s found this year his business is picking up. He just doesn’t have the time,” Anderson says.
Harrington runs a renovation business based out of Coldstream.
Asked if the party will run a different candidate, Anderson said there is “nothing on the horizon.”
“We’ll be coming up strong in (2021),” Anderson says.
