Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs Penticton received a grant from the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan/Similkameen to renovate washrooms and a kitchen at the Penticton Club.
“We are thankful to the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan/Similkameen for funding our renovations. By making our Penticton Club more user friendly, we are able to create an inclusive and supportive environment for kids and families,” said Penticton Area Director Jen Anderson.
Kitchen repairs allowed the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs Community Kitchen program to keep running. During the past year, the Community Kitchen program provided 750 meal portions to 25 families struggling with a limited income or other barriers.
Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs CEO Diane Entwistle is also grateful for the help: “Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs Penticton serves families and youth in hopes of providing them with a great future and supportive community. Supporters like Community Foundation of the South Okanagan/Similkameen contribute to Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs’ success.”
The Community Foundation of the South Okanagan/Similkameen has served the region for over 20 years, working with donors to create legacies in the form of permanent endowment funds. Grants are distributed from income earned, preserving the capital to ensure a perpetual stream of funds.
