Community Centre offers Day Camp for kids if strike continues

The Community Centre has lots of fun activities for people of all ages.

PENTICTON - The Community Centre has organized day camps for school kids ages 6 to 12 starting Sept 2. if teachers remain on strike.

Camps are offered Sept. 2 to 5 and Sept. 8 to 12, with additional weeks added as needed. Kids will participate in activities, including swimming, games, crafts and sports from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Before and after camp care is available for parents needing flexible schedules. Before Camp Keeners (8 a.m. to 9 a.m.) and After Camp Keeners (4 p.m. to 5 p.m.) are each $5 per session. Regular camp fees are $27 per child per day.

Customers will be reimbursed if school goes back into session.

The gymnasium will be open weekdays for $4 drop-in for teens (ages 13 to 18) from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and noon to 2:30 p.m.

The public pool will also be open for swimming starting Sept. 8 after annual pool maintenance closure. The pols will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and all water features available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Regular admission rates apply ($4 per child, $5 per youth).

Please note all children under age 7, and any child aged 7 to 11 years unable to swim the length of the leisure pool must be accompanied in the water by, and within arm’s reach of a responsible individual 16 years or older.
