Kamloops residents will likely need an umbrella for the rest of this week and over the weekend as the possibility of showers persists on a daily basis.

Temperatures are expected to stay at or near seasonal levels, however.

Environment Canada meteorologist Doug Lundquist says the storm track is over B.C. right now, bringing a series of storms to the coast and unsettled conditions to Kamloops.

He says temperatures are expected to be mild over the next few days and there may be a few sunny breaks in between the showers and clouds expected.

Today, Oct. 17, in Kamloops expect clouds with a 40 per cent chance of showers this afternoon and through the evening. Winds should be southeast at 30 km/h gusting to 50 with a high of 15 Celsius and a low of 6 C.

Tomorrow should see a mix of sun and cloud, again giving way to a 30 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon. The snow level is expected to drop to 1,300 metres tomorrow with winds southeast at 20 km/h gusting to 50. Tomorrow’s high should reach 12 C with an overnight low of 4 C.

Clouds and showers are forecast for Saturday with a 60 per cent chance of showers Saturday and a high of 8 C.

On Sunday, there is a 30 per cent chance of showers accompanied by a high of 11 C and a low of 4 C.

More rain is forecast for Monday with a high of 13 C and a low of 3 C.

Tuesday and Wednesday should see a mix of sun and cloud with highs of 12 C both days.

Normal temperatures this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 13 C and lows of 2 C.
