As snow piles continue to rise, the city will be ramping up its clearing efforts.

In a news release issued today, Jan. 15, the City of Kamloops will begin downtown snow windrow removal starting tonight at 8 p.m. from Lansdowne, Victoria and Seymour between 1 and 6 Avenue.

Tomorrow, Jan. 16, city crews will run at the same schedule clearing windrows from Lansdowne, Victoria and Seymour Street between 6 Avenue and 13 Avenue.

Crews will then move to the North Shore next week in the Tranquille Business District area. Snow removal work will begin at the east end of Tranquille Road and work west towards 8 Street starting the night of Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Residents are asked to obey traffic control and not park on the streets during these times. Vehicles parked on these streets during these hours may be subject to towing, the release says.
