Christmas weekend in Kamloops includes several crashes and a damaged ambulance

KAMLOOPS - It was a busy holiday weekend for Kamloops RCMP who responded to several incidents.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jody Neuls says among the several car accidents officers responded to over the Christmas long weekend, officers also were called after a B.C. Ambulance was damaged.

Neuls says paramedics were working the night shift on Christmas Day when they called police to report a "mischief" incident.

A man had allegedly smashed the windshield on the vehicle. Neuls says he was arrested but the incident is still under investigation and no charges have been laid.

"Nothing was stolen," Neuls says.

That call came in the middle of an extremely busy weekend for Kamloops RCMP, who responded to 16 motor vehicle incidents between Dec. 24 and Dec. 26.

Neuls says four of the accidents included serious injuries. She didn't have specific areas of where the accidents occurred, but says it would have been within Kamloops city limits or Kamloops Rural RCMP jurisdiction.
