PENTICTON - Weekend events in Penticton continue to have a Christmas theme while the Similkameen lights up with a full weekend event that includes tours of the region’s wineries.

Christmas Crafts are on the agenda at Time Flies Indoor Play located at 197 Warren Ave. Today, Dec. 7, bring the kids for some fun Christmas crafts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The regular admission rates apply.

The 2018 Similkameen Light up is on this weekend today through to Sunday, Dec. 9, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Similkameen wine region will be hosting light up festivities throughout the weekend with wine tastings at six of the region’s wineries. For more information, see the Similkameen Wineries website here.

The Penticton Farmers' Winter Market continues on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Shatford Centre. Fresh eggs, vegetables, fruits, honey, preserves and homemade crafts are available along with a number of local liquor vendors.

Penticton Vees Annual Teddy Bear Toss takes place this weekend in conjunction with their game against the Wenatchee Wild on Saturday at 6 p.m. Tickets for the game are $14 for adults, seniors 65 and over are $12, kids and students 18 and under are free.

The teddy bear toss is expanding this year to include pyjamas, toques, scarves, mittens, diapers and other soft items that might be used to help families. When the Vees score their first goal of the game, that’s the time to toss your items on the ice.

Salvation Army Penticton and Pet Smart will be at the South Okanagan Events Centre selling pyjamas and teddy bears for those who need to purchase an item.
