The Christie Mountain wildfire is still going and in the latest up from the B.C. Wildfire Service, it said crews are currently dealing with an excursion on the eastern flank.
"The fire moved out of an area that was inaccessible for crews, past a retardant line and down into a ravine. Crews are actively working in the area with aircraft," reads the update.
The fire is still considered being held, which means with the resources currently committed to the fire, sufficient suppression action has been taken that the fire is not likely to spread beyond existing or predetermined boundaries under the prevailing and forecasted conditions. As such, all previous evacuations were rescinded.
The fire was lightning-caused, fire origin and cause specialists determined.
