Snowfall has forced the cancellation of several flights in and out of Vancouver today, Feb. 28, which is having a ripple effect in Kamloops and the Okanagan.
“Our crews are fully staffed keeping runways and taxiways clear, however because of low visibility, the heavy rate of snowfall, and with safety top of mind, both arrivals and departures are extremely limited at this time,” states a notice on the Vancouver International Airport’s website.

Out of 11 flights scheduled to depart Kelowna International Airport by noon today, Feb. 28, only two are listed as on time. The rest are delayed or cancelled.
The two flights that have or will go ahead are to Edmonton.
It’s a similar picture for arrivals.
Kamloops had one flight from Vancouver cancelled and one from Calgary that arrived early. It’s showing flights as on time this afternoon but that could change, depending on what happens in Vancouver.
The weather forecast for the Lower Mainland shows some easing in the snow this afternoon.
Penticton’s flights to and from Vancouver this morning were also cancelled.
