VERNON - Drunk driving charges have been laid against a North Okanagan man in connection to a 2016 crash that killed two young women.

Travis Dustin Fox, born in 1995, faces 12 charges including two counts of impaired driving causing death, two counts of criminal negligence causing death and other charges related to causing bodily harm in relation to the March 6, 2016 crash at Highway 6 and Waddington Drive.

The crash claimed the lives of Carlee De Boer from Enderby and Paige Whitelaw from Vancouver Island. They were 21-years-old and studying at Okanagan College.

At the time of the crash, police said a 21-year-old Armstrong man was under investigation and they believed speed and alcohol may have been factors.

According to court documents, the charges were approved Aug. 14, 2017 in Vernon Provincial Court.

Fox is due to appear in court today, Oct. 26.
