Celtic Illusion coming to Kamloops in February 2020

A world-famous show that incorporates modern Irish dance and magic is coming to Kamloops this winter.

Celtic Illusion - A Night of Dance and Magic will be coming to the Sandman Centre on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m., according to a news release.

The show has taken Australian and New Zealand audiences by storm, the release says.

“Celtic Illusion showcases a stellar cast of champion and internationally-acclaimed dancers, including performers from Riverdance and Lord of the Dance,” Celtic Illusion’s director, producer, choreographer and leader dancer Anthony Street says in a release.

Street was born in Melbourne and is a world-renowned dancer recognized as the first Australian to perform in the lead role in Michael Flatley’s widely acclaimed Lord of the Dance as well as being responsible for the dance and magical sensation of Celtic Illusion.

The show has been regularly performing to sell-out audiences since the show premiered in 2011.

“Audiences will be impressed by some of the fastest tap dancing in the world, not to mention an incredible soundtrack by a stellar team including Angela Little who co-composed Baz Luhrman’s film, Australia, as we well as Steve Skinner who has arranged for artists such as Celine Dion, Stevie Wonder and the broadway musical, Rent.
