Five things to watch for in the Canadian business world in the coming week

TORONTO - Five things to watch this week in Canadian business:

Earnings: Companies reporting their latest earnings results this week include discount retailer Dollarama, yoga wear shop Lululemon Athletica and BlackBerry, which has a lot riding on its latest smartphone, the Priv.

Bank of Canada speech: Lynn Patterson, a deputy governor with the Bank of Canada, will speak to the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday about adjusting to falling commodity prices.

TD Bank meeting: TD Bank Group holds its annual meeting of common shareholders on Thursday in Montreal.

Rona vote on Lowe's takeover offer: Rona holds a shareholder vote on Lowe's takeover offer on Thursday in Montreal. The U.S.-based home renovation chain unveiled its $3.2-billion friendly bid for the Quebec-based retailer last month.

GDP: Statistics Canada releases the gross domestic product figures for January on Thursday. Earlier this month, the federal statistical agency reported that the economy expanded at an annual rate of 0.8 per cent in the final three months of 2015 — a bit of a surprise amid predictions of zero growth in GDP.
