Cause of North Okanagan house fire under investigation

ENDERBY – Everyone made it out of a burning home near Enderby safely yesterday morning.

Firefighters were called to the house fire in the 700 block of Enderby Mabel Lake Road east of Enderby just after 10 a.m. yesterday, June 4, according to an RCMP media release.

Enderby and District Fire Department crews extinguished the blaze, but the house was badly damaged.

The people in the home were sleeping when the fire broke out, but everyone made it out safely and no one was hurt, police say.

“The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time, however it does not appear to be suspicious in nature,” RCMP spokesperson Const. Kelly Brett says in the release.
