Investigators have ruled the cause of a fire that destroyed two Vernon homes and a recreation vehicle over a week ago is undetermined.

The blaze in the 7200 block of Longacre Drive, June 8, destroyed two homes, an RV and significantly damaged a second RV.

Firefighters arrived to find a motorhome fully engulfed in flames which spread to the garage of a nearby home. There was an explosion and the fire spread to the rest of the home and a neighbouring house.

All the residents were evacuated safely.

Vernon Fire Rescue Services says in a media release issued today, June 16, the cause of blaze remains undetermined.

“Due to the extent of the fire damage, a definitive point of origin could not be determined,” the release says.

Investigators say the cause of the fire isn't criminal in nature.
