Cars to launch into the air, smash into motorhomes at Penticton Speedway

The Penticton Speedway is opening this weekend and spectators can watch cars soar through the air, crash and get smashed up.

Hornets, Streetstocks, Hit to Pass and Flying Destruction is set to launch Saturday, July 4 at 7 p.m., according to the Penticton Speedway in a news release. 

Social distancing measures will be in place, and the bleachers will be sectioned off so residents will be able to maintain a safe distance from one another. Race organizers are also encouraging residents to bring sanitizer and masks, and will have some available on site. Washrooms will be single use and extra cleaning measures will be in place.

"Arrive early to watch the races from the safety of your vehicle in our "Tailgate" section," according to the release.

Tickets are available at the gate, family pricing is available and kids 10 and under are free. The concession limited to hot and cold drinks, chips, cold treats. No homemade hot food will be allowed, but pizza will also be available, according to the release.
