A car smashed through a Kelowna dollar store's windows this afternoon, ending up partly in the store.

Witness Pamela Andersen was shopping in Canada's Dollar Superstore off of Harvey Avenue when she heard the crash around 1 p.m.

Emergency crews were on scene and the driver of the car was shaken up, but not injured, she said.

"(It) was a close call as a few shoppers were nearby and had to jump out of the way."

Earlier this afternoon, a vehicle smashed into a Peachland A&W which had only opened its restaurant section a few weeks prior.
