KAMLOOPS – Emergency crews had to extract a car from a downtown salon in Kamloops today.
Kamloops RCMP says in a release two vehicles were heading east on Seymour Street dowtown when a third vehicle travelling north on 4 Avenue ran a red light.
The vehicle on 4 Avenue hit a vehicle on Seymour, and that vehicle ran into the one next to it.
The northbound vehicle deflected off and into Ardeo Salon and Spa.
The collision knocked out floor to ceiling windows on one side of the salon.
A witness says a woman walking by was narrowly missed as the car hit the building.
Kamloops Fire Rescue Capt. Steve Butchart says all of the vehicles were occupied solely by the drivers and there are minor injuries.
One man inside the salon suffered minor cuts from the shards of glass from the broken windows, but was treated on scene by paramedics and released.
The driver of the northbound vehicle was issued a ticket for failing to stop at a red light.
The intersection was closed for a short time while the crash scene was cleaned up.
