Canucks Young Stars Classic tickets go on sale next week

PENTICTON - Ticket packages for the 2018 Canucks Young Stars Classic in Penticton go on sale next week.

The Young Stars Classic takes place Friday, Sept. 7 to Sunday, Sept. 9 at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton, featuring the Vancouver Canucks and Winnipeg Jets best young prospects, as well as players from the UBC Thunderbirds and the University of Alberta Golden Bears, according to a Vancouver Canucks media release.

The Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers are not taking part this year.

“The Young Stars Classic is a fantastic tournament and the City of Penticton does a tremendous job as host,” Canucks president Trevor Linden says in the release. “While the format and participating teams has changed, fans can still expect a lot of excitement and a high level of competition from both top prospects and elite university programs.”

Canucks top prospects expected to play in the tournament include Elias Peterson, Jonathan Dahlen, Olli Juolevi and Adam Gaudette. Jets prospects include Kristian Vesalainen, Logan Stanley and Michael Spacek.

Four-game ticket packages and ice level VIP packages go on sale Friday, July 27, at 10 a.m., online at ValleyFirstTix.com. Four-game ticket packages will set up back $35 plus service charges, and ice level VIP packages are going for $155 plus service charges.

Off ice festivities include a minor hockey day featuring a Party on the Plaza with games food, music, entertainment and skills development camps for B.C. hockey players.
