The Canadian national women's hockey team will take on the Americans this November in a seven-game series and Kamloops and Kelowna will get to see them first.

The first two games will be hosted in Kelowna and Kamloops as the Rivalry Series launches its third run.

“Both games will feature the best players in the world competing against each other at the highest level, and we cannot wait to reignite one of the most intense rivalries in sports," Gina Kingsbury of Hockey Canada said in a news release.

The Canada and U.S. women's teams will face off at Kelowna's Prospera Place on Nov. 15, then meet again at Sandman Centre in Kamloops on Nov. 17, according to a Hockey Canada news release.

“We hope that the legacy of the Rivalry Series will last beyond the two games in British Columbia and motivate girls across the country to pick up a stick and play hockey,” Hockey Canada director of women and girls hockey, Marin Hickox, said. “This will be an incredible opportunity to watch Canada’s gold medal-winning team play on home ice against its biggest rival, and inspire the next generation of hockey players.”

The two November games will be Team Canada's first on home ice since winning gold at both the 2022 Winter Olympics and the IIHF Women's World Championship.

“After a successful year for our team on the ice, we are thrilled to celebrate with our fans at home by bringing the Rivalry Series to Canada this fall,” Kingsbury said.

Seven games will be spread from November to February for the 2022/23 Rivalry Series.

Hockey Canada hasn't announced the next five locations yet, but adds that two more will be in Canada in early 2023.

Ticket information for the games in Kelowna and Kamloops is yet to be released.
