Four-time world champion Kurt Browning is coming to Salmon Arm to teach a figure skating seminar this week.
The Canadian champion is a Guinness world record holder for being the first skater to land a quadruple jump in a competition.
“This is a huge deal for our little skating club and everyone is extremely excited,” Salmon Arm Skating Club president Crystal de Boer said. “It's an amazing opportunity for skaters and coaches.”
The club sent Browning an invitation last summer and when he agreed to come out, it was a big surprise.

Browning will be at the Shaw Centre in Salmon Arm from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Feb. 25, teaching the club’s competitive skaters.
While registration is full, the public is allowed to drop by and watch.
“We are being overwhelmed by the level of interest in the community,” de Boer said. “If people come watch please respect him (Browning) and skaters and don’t interrupt the seminar.”
