PENTICTON - Country music fans, mark Friday, Aug. 7 on your calendar.
That's the day George Canyon performs during this year’s 68th annual Penticton Peach Festival.
Canyon is considered to be one of the most requested and well known stars on Country Music Television, in addition to being the most played Canadian artist on Canadian country radio.
Canyon is a 34-time nominee of the Canadian Country Music Awards and has won seven CCMA awards including Male Artist of the Year, to which he was twice named. He is the recipient of two Juno Awards and a SOCAN Award.
Beamer Wigley of Penticton will join Canyon on Peach Festival’s Country Music night. Wigley is a Penticton talent who has been playing guitar since he was five. He’s won several talent competitions including the PNE Showdown.
Dale Seaman and Highway 97 will also be appearing for their third show at Peachfest.
Rounding out the evening will be a performance by King and Cash, who recently recorded their first single.
The Penticton Peach Festival is scheduled August 5 - 9. There is no admission charge to Peachfest music events.
