KELOWNA - Police were kept busy Tuesday night as the city was welcoming the new year, but with all the hub-bub, there was only one serious incident.

In the city of Kelowna, police investigated 88 complaints and of that, 16 people wound up in cells with 14 released when sober and two remaining, in breach of court orders. One man was assaulted on Leon Avenue.

Mounties say Big White Resort welcomed a well behaved crowd overall, and the two males arrested for intoxication have been released.

The West Kelowna detachment investigated eight non-serious complaints.
