OFFICIALS WARN PUBLIC ABOUT DANGEROUS DOG MISSING FROM COMPOUND

KAMLOOPS - An 'aggressive' pit bull removed from the Osoyoos area may be on its way to Kamloops.

Officials are saying the dog, an American Pit Bull Terrier named Brutus, has ties to the Kamloops area and may be headed this way.

The dog disappeared from a locked animal control facility sometime between 3 and 5:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon in Osoyoos with signs of forced entry.

The district is warning residents due to the nature of the dog. They are urging people to take extra care and precaution with pets and small children now that the dog is no longer confined to a fenced, locked compound. The animal was involved with the death of another dog held at the facility.

Those with information regarding the dogs whereabouts are asked to contact local RCMP at 250-828-3000.
