Kamloops RCMP are investigating after three people were stabbed in three separate incidents overnight.

Police responded to the first stabbing at around 8:24 p.m. yesterday, April 1, in the 300 block of Tranquille Road, according to an RCMP media release. A 47-year-old man was stabbed in the face and suffered minor injuries.

The next stabbing occurred nearby at approximately 9:42 p.m. in the 400 block of Tranquille Road. The victim, a 31-year-old man, brought himself into a local medical facility.

At 1:30 a.m. today, April 2, a 35-year-old male stabbing victim showed up a local medical facility with non-life threatening injuries. RCMP say it is not yet known where the man was stabbed.

RCMP say one of the victims is known to be involved in the drug trade, but investigators do not yet believe the stabbings are connected.

"Every act of violence in our community is aggressively investigated. In each case, the investigation is in its infancy and therefore there is little information that can be released,” Kamloops RCMP plainclothes commander Staff Sgt. Simon Pillay said in the release. “Pandemic or not, RCMP Kamloops remain focussed on delivering robust service on our core policing functions.”

If you have information about any of the stabbings, contact the Kamloops RMCP at 250-828-3000.
