Latner Writers' Trust Poetry Prize to give $25,000 to Canadian in mid-career

TORONTO - The Writers' Trust of Canada has announced a new poetry award worth $25,000.

The Latner Writers' Trust Poetry Prize is an annual honour recognizing a Canadian writer's body of work.

It's sponsored by the Latner Family Foundation and administered by the Writers' Trust of Canada.

The honour will be handed out along with five other literature prizes at the annual Writers' Trust Awards in November.

Jury members for the inaugural prize include writers Stephanie Bolster, Lorna Crozier and Fred Wah.

Candidates for the prize must be in mid-career, which is defined as having published at least three collections of poetry.
