WEST KELOWNA - Users of the Sunnyside/Pritchard Water System in West Kelowna need to boil their water before drinking it and are being asked to use as little as possible.
A water quality advisory issued earlier today, Aug. 12, due to a power outage was upgraded to a boil water notice.
Residents are asked not to use any water for irrigation and to minimize indoor use so the reservoirs can be refilled.
Water may be discoloured and water pressure may be low at times.
Boiled water or supplies from safe sources should be used for things like brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, preparing food, making beverages and ice and mixing baby formula.
Clean water is available for free at the bulk water station at Shannon Lake and Asquith roads, on the Asquith Road side of the station.
Updates on the situation are available on the City of West Kelowna website. To receive notifications of water quality advisories, residents can sign up at westkelownacity.ca/subscribe.
