Search to resume Tuesday for 2 missing boaters in St. Lawrence River

MONTREAL - Two people remain missing after a boating accident in the St. Lawrence River near Trois-Rivieres, east of Montreal.

Jean-Guy Cote and Alexis Mongrain , both 27, fell out of a boat on Sunday when the driver lost control of the craft.

Witnesses say the boat was moving at full speed then swerved.

Four other people in the boat were also ejected but were quickly rescued by boats that were nearby.

Quebec Provincial Police divers suspended their search last night at about 8:30 p.m. and were to resume searching Tuesday morning.

Sergeant Claude Denis says alcohol does not appear to be a factor, but speed may have contributed to the accident.
