CHASE - A bizarre collision between a car and a motorhome on the Trans Canada in the Shuswap over the weekend resulted in no serious injuries.
Chase RCMP Sgt. Gary Heebner says in a media release a BMW crashed into a motorhome that was stopped in the slow lane around 2:15 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 13 on Highway 1 east of Chase.
He says the motorhome was pulled over, with its hazard lights on. It could not pull over any further because the road had no shoulder.
The man driving the BMW was in the passing lane when he accidentally drifted into the slow lane, Heebner says.
The BMW struck the back of the stopped motorhome and the collision sent the motorhome down a 30-foot embankment.
Heebner says the injuries suffered in the crash were minor, but points out the driver of the BMW was taken to the hospital for observation.
There were witnesses to the crash and he says the BMW driver was given a violation ticket. Drugs and alcohol were not factors in the collision.
