Blasting Activity in Smith Creek Begins

KELOWNA - The City of West Kelowna is advising the public that blasting activity related to subdivision construction in the Smith Creek neighbourhood will occur beginning Aug. 30 and continuing to Sept.16.
A blasting permit has been issued to Smith Creek Holdings Ltd. for site blasting for 2424, 2428, 2432, 3002, & 3006 Ironridge Road in West Kelowna.
Blasting will be allowed Monday to Saturday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. As part of WorkSafeBC requirements, safety sirens will be sounded before the blast and once the area is cleared. The blasting company will monitor for vibrations caused by the blast.
