After a decade as coach, Allison McNeill leaves Canada's women's basketball team

Coach Allison McNeill is stepping away from Canada's women's basketball team after more than a decade as its head coach.

McNeill says she realized in the days following the London Olympics that there were other things in her life that needed attention.

Basketball, she says, had ceased to be the most important thing, prompting her decision to resign.

McNeill says her time with the national team saw great changes.

When she was hired in 2001, she says they played fewer games than most high school teams.

She coached the Canadian women to a quarter-final appearance at the London Olympics.
