VERNON - A 32-year-old Vernon man says his million-dollar lotto win is the best Christmas gift he's ever gotten.
Devin Cooper bought a Lotto Max ticket at Sir Winston's Pub in Vernon and last week he found out he won a $1-million Maxmillions prize from the Dec. 22 draw.
BCLC says in the news release that Cooper works for a snow removal company. He checked his ticket online after hearing someone from Vernon had won.
"I was kind of freaking out when I saw that I had matched all (seven) numbers," Cooper says in the release.
But he couldn't claim his ticket right away. Because of holiday hours, he spent his whole weekend "dancing around" his apartment from pure excitement.
BCLC says the win couldn't have come at a better time of year for Cooper.
"I am ecstatic! It is unbelievable," Cooper says in the release. "This is definitely the best Christmas gift I have ever received!"
He's still thinking about how to spend his winnings, but he does intend to invest in real estate and buy a vehicle. He's also going to celebrate with his family over dinner.
