A classic Disney movie is coming to Sagebrush Theatre in Kamloops this fall in the form of a Broadway musical.
Kamloops-based director Paige Danyluk and her cast invite theatre lovers to come ‘be their guests’ at Disney’s "Beauty and the Beast: The Broadway Musical."
“Our cast is working so hard and can't wait to show everyone,” Danyluk, who plays the lead role of Belle, said.
Disney fans can expect to see loveable and timeless characters like Cogsworth the tightly-wound pendulum clock, Lumiere the candlestick and the adventurous teacup, Chip bring the classic story to life with song, dance and storytelling.
Of course they will be helping Belle take on the antagonists, Gaston and his partner in crime LeFou.
Kamloops's Paige Danyluk will be directing and playing the role of Belle in a Beauty and the Beast Broadway Musical in Kamloops in September, 2022.

“The dynamic between Belle and Gaston is more adult in this version,” Danyluk said. “There is an unwanted kiss. Belle is a woman ahead of her time, she wants to see the world and be educated instead of settling down and getting married.”

The cast is made up of about 35 members, including dancers from the Kamloops Dance Academy.
It is the first stage production by Kamloops-based company Wishing Well Parties and Events, which normally specializes in themed character performers ranging from princesses and fairies to galactic knights and superheroes for birthday parties.
“We have an entire cast that is passionate about the material, it is very easy to direct them,” Danyluk said. “We’ve been working on the production for a year and we wouldn’t be able to put it on without the immense talent and effort on the part of our incredible cast.”
