PENTICTON - It's been anything but a carefree summer for residents of the small community of Willowbrook this year, with a wildfire, a windstorm and now a bear issue
In the past month alone, the South Okanagan community has had a tumultuous summer so far: a nearby wildfire threatened, a windstorm damaged a number of properties and uprooted dozens of trees, and a recent structure fire burned a residence to the ground.
Now the community is dealing with a bear-human conflict.
Conservation Officer Dave Cox says a person was involved in a “contact” with a black bear earlier this week.
We’ll have more details as soon as they become available.
