KELOWNA - B.C.'s police watchdog has been called in to look into a late night crash involving an off-duty Kelowna RCMP officer and a cyclist.

RCMP reported to the Independent Investigations Office of B.C. that on May 25, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the crash occurred between an off-duty police officer and a cyclist on Harvey Avenue.

Emergency Health Services attended and transported the male cyclist to Kelowna General Hospital, where it was determined he had suffered serious injuries.

Independent Investigations Office is asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact its witness line at 1-855-446-8477.
